Frozen Pieces Of Life | The Photography of Patrick Byrne

This is the second photo from my hibernation series. As I mentioned yesterday, the weather in Chicago has been so oppressive that I've barely been able to step outside. Thus, I propped up my tripod in my window and tried to do the best I could. You can see the building from which I drew yesterday's image, "Lazy Man's Sunset", on the left.

That’s a great view you have. Unfortunately they built a taller building across the street from me and now that’s the view I have.

Great long exposure. Interesting scene, too.

I don’t blame you at all for not wanting to go out in that. Your batteries probably wouldn’t last long anyway.

Beautiful view! The cold of winter comes through here so well and I just love the patterns of light in the windows across the way.

Very nice cityscape. You do indeed have a great view from your window. My view isn’t nearly so interesting.

Nice view – I like the dark roofs of the low buildings. Warmly lit. Great clarity.

Exposure surely was hard to handle for this one, but I think it’s perfect The colors are just awesome, with this gorgeous balance between the warm tones of the streetlights and the blue of the sky. Superb work.

That’s a wonderful view you have. Great photo; I like the colours and the reflections of the windows of the left building.

So sharp. And I love the gradual blend of colors in the building on the left … are the warm colors at the bottom the result of street lights…or the setting sun from the direction the photo was taken?….I wonder. Lovely shot.
